Canine Good Citizen
Sold out
Tuesday 7/28 & 8/4 at 7:30pm
The American Kennel Club (AKC) believes "that all dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners; all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and plenty of praise along the way." Canine Good Citizen (CGC) creates a strong dog/human trust relationship using practical and functional behaviors used in everyday life. It ensures good dog behavior and good dog neighbors. CGC often lays the foundation for other dog sports such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. CGC is also a building block for dogs that go on to be therapy dogs. This special two-week pop-up class will review the ten items required for Canine Good Citizen testing from the AKC, including walking on a loose lead, accepting a friendly stranger, coming when called, confidence in a distracting environment, and much more. An evaluation will be offered.
Prerequisite: previous completion of CGC level 1 class, Canine Manners, or obedience training background
2-week pop-up class and evaluation, July/August 2026
