Class Description

Class starts at 7:45 pm, Tuesdays and lasts for twelve weeks.

This class focuses on handler control while continuing to improve individual obstacle skills and basic handling techniques. Starting with short sequences, the handler learns timing and pace with their dog. Dogs now work off lead for entire short sequences. The use of positive motivational training is encouraged.

Objective

  •  Dog and handler must be able to negotiate a short sequence under control, off lead

  •  Handler will be able to properly execute front and rear crosses in a short sequence.

  •  Dog does not need to be weaving upright poles, but should be able to negotiate the obstacle without following a treat.

  •  Handler can verbalize contact criteria and startline stay

  •  Handler has control of dog off lead and control of dog when on lead waiting their turn to perform.

  •  Dog's contact performance is confident, not hesitant.

  • Prerequisite

    Successful completion of Intermediate A or a recommendation from the Training Director.
